Dual mono solid state compressor/limiter. Uses electro-optical variable
attenuator for automatic gain reduction, can produce up to 40dB gain reduction
with no increase in harmonic distortion. Attack/release times are dependent
on the degree of peak limiting. This system makes it very easy to use and makes
the unit particularly suitable for vocal recording, but sounds fantastic on
many other sources such as drum overheads, bass cabinets, percussion, etc. Essentially,
the LA-3A is a solid-state version of the LA-2A; It retains the same simple
control set, and of course the all-important T4 el-op module, which was the
source of all the great program-dependent compression characteristics for the
LA-2. A VERY smooth and silky sound. Features also include Compression or Limiting
option and gain switch of 30-50db.
Both are in great condition, work and sound fantastic! Includes attached
XLR pigtails.
